The AK-CO2 is a CO₂ system used for generator rooms, transformer and panel areas, paint booths and machinery compartments. It extinguishes fire by reducing oxygen, so it is applied only in unoccupied or evacuated areas.
Safety
Pre-discharge audible-visual warning, a delay time, door lock switches and a manual abort button are standard. If people enter, a lock-off valve makes the system passive.
At the annual service cylinder weight and release mechanisms are checked.
